​Branes, Strings,
​and M-Theory




​This piece was inspired by my (amateur) interest in particle physics.  I am fascinated by the concept of the quantum world and use my imagination to represents aspects of it.  Branes (membranes) are represented by the shapes; Strings, by the lines; and M-Theory, by the use of automatic sewing machine patterns in the quilting.  These refer to the folded-up 10 or 11 dimensions used in the theories.
